I started creating costumes after reading my sister's Aniway magazine, and seeing an article about someone cosplaying as Pit from Kid Icarus. I was immedeatly inspired, especially since a year prior I also discovered lolita fashion via a documentary, lolita never got a hold for me however, but I knew cosplay was definitely something I needed to try. Looking online for costumes proved to be too expensive for my small allowance budget, so instead I started making them myself. My first costume was a robe inspired by Altaïr ibn'la-ahad from the original Assassin's creed. I discovered the joy of making something I could actually wear and soon began more elaborate projects, creating a sister of battle, Sally Whitemane from World of Warcraft and building the Doom Slayer for international clients as well.
Costume making also inspired me to start studying Industrial design and engineering, where I focussed on processes aimed for making durable props and accessories. During my studies I also helped hundreds of people to make their costume dreams become reality by providing high-end made-to-measure accessories and props to compliment their costumes. Nowadays I offer tailor-made design solutions for complex prop-engineering projects, next to my full-time job as an engineer.
My passion in life is to help make you feel beautiful, and my aim is to do so using the art of costume making. I love helping people learn new skills, and therefore started building this little corner of the internet to share my knowledge and inspire others. I'm currently living together with my partner, our cat Mango and bunnies Spar and Deen in a small village in the Netherlands, where my workshop is always open for visits if you want to gain hands-on experience with cosplay yourself.
